The Policy and Thesis Researchers of Merger Strategies for Higher education in Taiwan from 2001-2005



Abstract



To be changeable in the policy of higher education, we have had two different ways for developing since 50 years ago. Nowadays, organizations in Taiwan are over the demand and the out of balance lead to many problems in the educational actuality. In order to integrate educational resources, approve teaching quality and strengthen competitiveness, Department of Education now sets the mergers in national universities into action.



Merging policies of higher education in Taiwan started from 1999 and there correlative plans did not complete until 2001. The ideal goals of merger are not just strengthening competitiveness, but also pursuing self-distinction. In fact, several negative reasons affect the outcomes of polices, such as school affair, performers’ values, circumstances, and others that take polices not easy to be carried out. Although many essays have discussed merging policies, they would not be taken into result at all.



This article will use the strategy of meta-analysis, finding out the hopes in pushing higher education into merger, and concluding theses about relative issues. In a word, solving the negative factors of merging higher education is our main goal.
